FAQ

Everything we can answer honestly.

Grouped by subject. Where we do not have a number yet, that is what it says, because a made up figure is worse than an admission.

Private access

Do my friends need to install anything?
Yes, one small client, once. They sign in, install it, and your server appears. After that it is the same as joining any other server.
Why is there no public IP?
Because a public IP is what gets your server scanned, griefed and DDoSed. Private access removes the target instead of selling you protection for it.
Can I make my server public later?
That is planned as a paid add on. It costs more because it carries real abuse and DDoS risk, and we would rather price that honestly than bundle it.
Can I get my files out?
Always. Full file access and backups from day one. It is your world.
How many people can play?
The player count listed on each size is what you get, from five on the smallest plan up to twenty on the largest. We do not sell you a server and then sell you the people on it.

The hardware

What does shared fair use CPU actually mean?
You are not buying dedicated cores. Plans are sized for vanilla and light modded servers. If your server starts affecting other people on the node we will talk to you about a bigger plan.
Where are the servers?
South Africa. That is the whole point. Local players get local latency instead of routing to Europe.
What ping should I expect?
We have not measured it on the hardware you would actually be on, so there is no number on this site. Every host in this market quotes one without saying from where or on whose line. Ours goes up when it is real.
Can I run mods and plugins?
Yes, and the plan sizes assume you will. Heavy modpacks are the exception: they need more CPU than shared fair use gives you, which is why the larger sizes exist and why some games are not on sale yet.

The catalogue

Why is Rust or ARK not listed as available?
Because we cannot run them well yet. Those need performance hardware we have not bought. Listing them and delivering a bad server helps nobody.
How many games can I actually order today?
Thirty eight of the hundred and twelve in the catalogue are tested and on sale. Forty three are in beta while we benchmark them, and thirty one are waiting on hardware. Every game page states which it is.
Why does Minecraft have one page for Java and Bedrock?
Because it is one server you choose how to run, not two products. The page covers both editions and the plan sizes are the same either way.

Paying for it

What does it cost?
From R59 a month for one gigabyte up to R429 for twelve, in rands, monthly. No setup fee, no minimum term, and no currency conversion at the end.
Can I order right now?
Not yet. The customer portal where ordering and billing live is still being set up, so nothing on this site takes payment. The prices are what it will cost when it opens.
How do I get hold of you?
Email [email protected]. That reaches a person rather than a queue. A Discord is still being set up and will appear on the contact page when it exists.

Still stuck
