Set up by us

Sized from published requirements rather than our own benchmark, so we build it by hand and check it before handing it over.

Order it like any other server. One of us sets it up, checks it, and hands over the same console, files and backups every server gets.

What it is

Black Mesa is a 2020 first-person shooter video game developed and published by Crowbar Collective. It is a fan-made remake of Half-Life (1998) in the Source game engine. Originally published as a free mod in September 2012, Black Mesa was approved for commercial release by Valve, the developers of Half-Life.

The solid bar is the smallest plan that runs Black Mesa. Faded bars run it with room to spare. Greyed plans sit outside its range. Player counts are what the plan carries, not a benchmark of this game.

How busy it is

Black Mesa against the other shooter games.

Peak concurrent players on Steam, measured rather than estimated. Bars are to scale against each other, so a game almost nobody plays looks like one.

What players say

Black Mesa, in the words of people who play it.

Three reviews from Steam, picked by how many other players found them helpful. About the game, not about us, unedited, and linked so you can check.

The fun factor cannot be ranked. This game just works if you let it. I can see why this game is iconic and this is a perfect example of what I consider a "They don't make them like they used to" type of game. Such a great game to be able to sit down and enjoy.
